About Memphis Neurology

Memphis Neurology was founded in the 1970s. The practice serves a diverse patient community at two central office locations in Germantown, Tennessee, and Southaven, Mississippi.

The practice provides state-of-the-art care to adults and children with various medical conditions, including behavior disorders, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases. The fully equipped neurophysiology lab enables the team to provide high-quality treatments like Botox® injections, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and management of baclofen pumps and vagus nerve stimulation (VNS).

When patients enter Memphis Neurology, they’re welcomed by a dedicated team of board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners who aim to provide comprehensive, conversational, and professional care. The team examines patients and gains an understanding of every individual’s needs. They then work to develop personalized care plans that are designed to produce positive, long-lasting results.

Memphis Neurology proudly offers a combination of holistic and integrative approaches to medicine when establishing personalized care plans. The team educates patients about the medication options available for specific conditions and discusses alternative treatment options with proven results.

History of Practice

Memphis Neurology is a multi-practitioner group unique in the Mid-South in that patients are cared for from infancy through adulthood. The practice opened in the early 1970s as Pediatric Neurology at Le Bonheur Hospital, which, for decades was the only pediatric neurology provider in the tri-state area.

Pediatric Neurology was the first practice in the area to provide care in the outlying communities, opening satellite offices in Paragould, West Memphis, Tupelo, and Jackson, Tennessee. Dr. J.T. Jabbour and Dr. Robert M. Boehm, two of the founding partners, served patients in East Tennessee and central Mississippi, in addition to those in the greater Memphis area.

Today, the practice still treats children with conditions such as headaches, seizures, developmental delay, autism, learning disorders, and attention deficit disorder. In 2000, the adult division was added to the practice treating those suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s, dementia, strokes, seizures, MS, and migraine headaches.

The practice is equipped with a neurodiagnostic lab that offers services for both our patients and those referred by other healthcare professionals. EEGs and EMGs are performed at the Germantown, TN and Southaven, MS offices. We also provide epilepsy monitoring unit and ambulatory testing in the Germantown office. Botox injections for chronic migraine headaches, muscle spasticity, cervical dystonia, and hyperhydrosis are available at both locations. For patients with seizures that are difficult to control through medication alone, the option of a vagal nerve stimulator (VNS) is available, as necessary as part of an overall comprehensive seizure monitoring and care program. Memphis Neurology also participates in various clinical studies and trials.

To assure continuity of care, Drs. Natarajan and Sonone provide adult patient care in both locations with the support of nurse practitioners Amanda Humbers, Jesse Sawyer, Liz Phillips, and Lindsey Howell. Drs. Jalandoni offers pediatric patient care in both locations with nurse practitioner Amy Dempsey. Our physicians also treat patients at Methodist Germantown, Methodist Olive Branch, and Baptist Desoto Hospitals. Recently, the practice has also launched the Memphis Headache Clinic, which sees pediatric and adult patients with all types of headaches.

With two locations in Tennessee and Mississippi and a wide array of patient care services, Memphis Neurology strives to provide both convenient and comprehensive neurologic care for patients of all ages.
